First and foremost, Turtles Treks aren't for everybody. No crying, no whining, no complaining. If you need something laid out to you in tremendous detail with intense structure, with lots of hotel stays, and you aren't one that goes with the flow, or need to stop are a certain time each day to call it a day and not go until you drop, and aren't comfortable often sleeping on the side of the road or in a wooded area for a few hours while on trek, or don't like veering away from a set detailed schedule: THIS ISN'T FOR YOU. You will have lots of down time in major cities while navigating from points A to points B while not hiking or biking etc, to a/ sit in a hotel room, say in Milan or Barcelona on your TikTok all night, or b/ explore the streets alone or with a buddy in your free time. No one judges, the choice is yours. My treks provide a boat load of stuff to do (or not do), in a laid back setting, where stress and drama do not play well together. There are many participants who have been with me for years, literally, all over the globe. This isn't for everyone. You may get home sick, may get tired of being on the road, and may get sick of me or each other, and all that is part of travel. You will be very, very tired. But with all that said, I promise you'll have the time of your life. Our more structured shorter treks, have professional guides (some very close friends of ours), in the countries or mountains we will be hiking in, with more regimented schedules and little down time. The longer treks, like 30+ Day Bike treks and are now infamous Round the World Trek (90 Days for under $15,000), provide more loose end to end travel, with multiple activities, with treks within a trek programs, and lots of time to explore on your own. Our bike-pack treks use bikes which aren't suitable for long distance riding; but we use them anyway, and have the time of our lives.
Basically our treks and expeditions really don't exist like I have them :), with prices this low that are all inclusive. It just doesn't exist. There is no super fancy website, with 100's of elaborate pictures, and technical jargon, that way nearly 100% of all trek fees go directly into treks. Sure all treks are insured, but this isn't a professional guide company and I don't consider myself a professional guide or hiker. With all that said above, what we do is unique, with athletes and those for the love of the outdoors from all facets of life and varied backgrounds. While treks are for ANYONE of any age, primary ages are 18-24. If you are here you found us with a specific goal in mind. Wherein our treks have always been geared to scouts, 16+, the treks RIGHT NOW found on registration pages, are fully bookable by ANYONE of ANY AGE, of any race, or color, or sexual orientation from 14-94. You can sign up as a group, as friends, parents (within reason), troops, sales teams, family reunion, grandparents etc.
Fall 2022 and 2023 will be the biggest years so far; so please join us for one, or a couple of the treks listed. Discounts for more than one member of your family or for those who wants to do multiple treks. There has to be a minimum of 4 for any trek from now on (not including me), 5 for the Peru trek this Thanksgiving, and minimum 5 for Round the World 2.0 (we coin it 2.0, as its the second year we are doing this, and had a pretty incredible trip last year traveling the world during COVID).
All the best in high adventure! - TURTLE
